This form is to be used by International students seeking to defer (pause studies) for one Trimester. 

Deferral for a Trimester can be approved on compassionate or compelling grounds with supporting documentation. ‘Compassionate or compelling’ circumstances are generally those beyond the control of the student and which have an impact upon the student’s course progress or wellbeing. 

You are expected to complete your course by the end of your current active CoE; deferring may mean you will need to extend your CoE which may result in an increase of financial expenses, such as extending visa and OSHC, etc. 

Please note, students will remain academically and financially liable for units if seeking deferral for a current Trimester after the census date has passed. Students should refer to the Tuition Fee and Refund Policy located here.
